You can either laugh or cry, but laughing burns more calories

Last Sunday, Maria, Nailah and I went to Staines to watch Blended. Although the film has been met with mostly negative reviews, it was a really enjoyable romantic comedy film for us to watch. Afterwards, we went to Harvester to eat, since the £9.99 meal deal with unlimited free salad, a selected main course and a sundae was really enticing. Even though the restaurant was busy, the service was still maintained at a good level, and we were served quickly and pleasantly. We were conveniently located near the salad bar, and it was tempting for us to keep going for more salad especially when it is so good, but as we still had main and dessert yet to come, it was best to have one round for now. Maria and I ordered a Gourmet chicken burger with bacon and cheese, whilst Nailah ordered cauliflower cheese and tomato tart. I think we can all agree that the food was delicious and filling, which left us no room for more salad sadly. For the sundae, each of us had a different flavour (chocolate, raspberry and toffee) and it tasted absolutely heavenly. I definitely recommend Harvester and will go again in the future because their quality of food and value for money is very good!

I seem to have a habit of blogging everything at least one week later. With all this free time, I really have no excuse of why I shouldn't be blogging. It's funny how at the start of May I was loaded with revision and wished for freedom so badly, but by the end of May, I have no idea how to spend my freedom. Anyway, I like to announce some good news: I've been offered a position in the Community Action Student team for the next academic year, where I'll be acting as an ambassador promoting and supporting volunteering in my university and local community. Absolutely happy because I didn't think I would get the role and it's an exciting prospect where there is lots to be involved. Now then, two more weeks left in university until I go back home.

  1. The sundaes look delicious. I think that is always the case; when you are swamped with work and responsibilities you long for freedom but then when that time comes around, you just realise you have so much time on your hands. Congrats on being an ambassador!
