We're stronger in the places that we've been broken

I spent a few days in Manchester to visit my best friend Amy during the penultimate week of university. I didn't take many pictures during this trip as I felt it was more important to catch up than to take photos, though looking back I wish I had taken more photos. The only photos I took was at Hard Rock Cafe. Much like the two branches I visited in Washington and in Hong Kong, the atmosphere and service were absolutely great, especially with the great rock memorabilia. The chicken wings and burger tasted good, and the cocktail was nice, however, it was fairly expensive. I would probably come here for the one-off experience, and if I return to Hard Rock Cafe again, it would be at a different city.

Before our meal, we watched "A million ways to die in the west". The film was good but a little disappointing because I expected a lot more based on the trailer. Later that night, I went out clubbing with Amy and her friends, and I can definitely see why Manchester is a party place. The next day, we went to China Town for lunch and Trafford centre for shopping. Sad times when you spotted a really nice dress in Superdry but the price tag is ridiculously expensive and the store doesn't even offer a student discount. For dinner, we went to Wasabi, a Japanese restaurant. I definitely recommend this place because of the awesome dessert and enjoyable atmosphere with kpop music, not to mention cute waiters working there haha. On the last day, we had lunch at Nandos before my train journey back to university.

It was really nice to return to Manchester with a new perspective. The last time Amy and I were in Manchester together was during last August to collect her room key. At the time, we were so clueless about Manchester, like we got scammed for an expensive taxi journey when we could have taken the bus. But now Amy is an expert and knows where to go and what to do haha. It was really lovely to catch up with her, especially since we are studying in different cities. Although we are both back at home, the next time I'll most likely see her will be in Hong Kong in mid-July haha.
