Nothing great in the world was accomplished without passion

Dec 21, 2015
Back in November, Wesley and I went to Bath to visit the Christmas market. I previously blogged about my visit to Bath in 2013 and you can check out the post here. Last time, I didn't get to spend much time in Bath, but I left Bath with a strong desire to return one day and explore more of the beautiful city.

Once we arrived in Bath, we tried to find restaurants to have lunch. Everywhere was busy, and the average waiting time was an hour, even in the outskirts of town. After spending an hour searching for restaurants, we gave up and decided to have market food instead. I should have learned from my experience last time of the long waiting time, but because it was raining, I didn't want to have food outside. Luckily the rain subsided after an hour, so it wasn't too bad having food outside, and the market food looked great to eat.

We decided to take a trip to the Roman baths because 1) it was raining outside and 2) it's a popular destination in Bath. It's fascinating to see how the Romans built such an impressive structure and to hear the history behind it. At the end of the tour, you can try drinking the spa water, which I did. It had a strong metallic taste but it didn't taste as bad as I thought. Afterward, we explored the Christmas markets for a short while before heading back home.

I really enjoyed my day in Bath and I am keen on coming back again to explore the other aspects of this beautiful city.

Mulled wine is the best to drink and keeping warm.
